VIDEOMAPPING – INAUGURATION

A homage to Cremona and one of his most illustrious citizens, Claudio Monteverdi, through an original digital narration: between biographical events, compositions, auditory suggestions and inheritances, the project celebrates the genius of the great Cremona’s composer that revolutionized the Western music and profoundly influenced the course of the future.

The video installation leads us to reflect on how Monteverdi’s works resound in all the music history, echoing in the works of great composers that followed him, shaping our identity and creating endless beauty and enchanting sparks. A courageous, cultured and innovative artist without whom, as the final morphing suggests, maybe wouldn’t exist artists such as Verdi, Puccini, Pavarotti as well as the history of the Opera itself.

The project is born from the synergy between the Fondazione Teatro Ponchielli, Associazione Strada del Gusto Cremonese, Pro Cremona e Giochi di Luce srl, thanks to the support of Regione Lombardia, Comune di Cremona and Auricchio, a great reality of the territory that made itself Main Sponsor of this big present to the city.

The Monteverdi Festival, which also with the video installation in Cortile Federico II celebrates its 40 years, avail itself of the sustain of Fondazione LGH, Gruppo Bossoni Automobili and Nexus.
