A thrilling concert featuring the young professional musicians of the Monteverdi Conservatory of Cremona who, under the guidance of Carlo Ipata, will present a programme paying tribute to the very earliest flowering of the Baroque vocal tradition: from Monteverdi’s groundbreaking insight into musical theatre, L’Orfeo, to its spread across the Venetian scene and from there throughout the rest of Europe.

The programme, devised by Carlo Ipata himself —coach and conductor of the ensemble Gli Animosi del Monteverdi — will remind us of the profound meaning of Monteverdi’s legacy, in which music places itself at the service of the word.
