Antonio Greco, conductor
Ettore Pagano, soloist cello
music by F. Joseph Haydn, J. C. Bach, W. A. Mozart
Description
Haydn, Johann Christian Bach and Mozart pieces are usually executed with modern instruments, because many of these plays, differently from ancient and Baroque ones, have been played continuously since the time of their composition. In this way, the contemporary stylistic features have led the stylistic feature to slowly dilutes, moving away from the original one.
The use, in the concert, of musical Classical era and early romanticism instruments, or copies, assembled following late 700/early 800 standards, using historical Classical era arches – united to the expertise of the involved musician – allows the resurface of the original sound of this music.
While not believing that this kind of execution is the only correct one, it’s undeniable that these elements contribute to a fundamental change in the linguistic paradigm, able to generate a listening experience completely new and unexpected to the contemporary audience.
