Yesterday was held, at the Italian Senate, the press conference of presentation of draft law “Modifiche all’articolo 2 della legge 20 dicembre 2012, n. 238, per la realizzazione del Festival Claudio Monteverdi di Cremona”.
The submission of the proposal has the purpose to insert the Monteverdi Festival, of which the 40th edition recurs this year, in the national relevant music events.
A project that sees together all the politics in favour of the culture, in the name of who revolutionized music and gave birth to the Opera.
Thanks to the Italian Senators Simona Malpezzi, Carlo Cottarelli, and Renato Ancorotti, signatories of the bill, that embraced and sustained the initiative, acknowledging the importance of Holy Claudio and his production as Italian and world heritage.
At the Conference participated, as well as the Senators, Cremona Major, Gianluca Galimberti, Culture councillor, Luca Burgazzi and A. Ponchielli Theatre General Director, Andrea Cigni.
A first, but very important, step to confer to Claudio Monteverdi, and to the Festival named after him, the importance and the relevance that the Father of the Opera deserves.
