A baroque power trio! From an idea of ​​Simone Vallerotonda, the ensemble I Bassifondi was born which proposes for this concert the music of Claudio Monteverdi’s contemporary composers who wrote for lute, archlute, theorbo and baroque guitar, with the accompaniment of percussion. A profound search for musical sources, gut strings, diminution manuals, aware of never reaching the Truth, pushes the Ensemble to revive the ancient performance practice, without fear or subjection to romantic visions. Alongside the specialized festivals, I Bassifondi also play in clubs, pubs, sharing baroque music in "unofficial" places with ordinary people … but that’s another story!
