Description
Ida just arrived in Messina, her native city: her mother called her back for the renovation of her family’s apartment. Surrounded again by the longstanding objects, she is forced to deal with the ancient trauma of her father missing. He’s not dead: a morning he went away and never came back. This event troubled Ida’s whole life, but now that her native house harasses her, she has to find a way to break the witchcraft. The show starts from a physical space of the native house that falls apart and slowly overlaps with a psychical space.
After L’Amica geniale, Fanny & Alexander brings into the scene the new novel by Nadia Terranova, finalist at the Premio Strega 2019, bringing in the middle the relationship between two women, embodied by two exceptional actresses, Anna Bonaiuto and Valentina Cervi.
