Description
After almost 20 years is back at the Ponchielli Theatre one of the most famous shows by Antonio Gades: Carmen.
The myth of Antonio Gades was born in the early Sixties when he was a young dancer and discovered flamenco, the Andalusian dance, and the Andalusian singing, which had its maximum expression in Federico Garcia Lorca.
In Gades’s career Carmen occupies a primary role. In 1983 he collaborated with the director Carlos Saura to the Carmen Story movie. In the same year, he created the ballet Carmen which, since that moment, has achieved great success and cannot be danced by any company in the world except for Gades’s.
