Giselle tells a dramatic and moving love story deep in a mysterious atmosphere. Here looms over the madness and the destructive fury of the Wilis, spirits of young women who died unhappily having been betrayed or abandoned before marriage.

Yet, despite everything, love and forgiveness will triumph over pain and vengeance, and Giselle protects her beloved from the relentless spirits, finally finding eternal rest.

The Maribor Ballet is Slovenia’s leading ballet company, presenting a repertoire of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works. Since 2003, it has been under the direction of renowned dancer and award-winning choreographer Edward Clug.
