Description
When Teshigawara dances (Leone d’Oro for Careeer achievement at the Biennale di Venezia) he almost doesn’t look like a human being: His ability to make noticeable the alteration of emotions and the energy that flows in him makes him a unique interpreter. With him, his historic companion, Rihoko Sato, who frequently works with him and with whom shares the work of creation of his plays.
In Ophelia, Rihoko Sato portrays a woman who loses her love and her mind, but she does not tell from her facial expression nor from a mad dance. Instead, she fluidly dances into a spiral, with Teshigwara, who portrays Amleto, who appears and disappears as a ghost. When he puts her in front of him, she falls immediately in love and becomes the victim of all conflicts and war, fluctuating into a found eternal love, accepting a death full of love.
