The 2023 edition of Monteverdi Festival<\/strong>, the baroque music<\/strong> festival dedicated to Holy Claudio, has been announced. On the 380\u00b0 anniversary of the composer’s death, the festival reaches its 40th edition<\/strong>, scheduled from 16 to 25 June 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 also marks 380 years<\/strong> from the first representation<\/strong> of the opera L’incoronazione di Poppea<\/em><\/strong>, which will be the opera production of this Monteverdi Festival edition: it will be directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi<\/strong>, that will curate also scenes, costumes and lights, and conducted by Antonio Greco<\/strong>, main conductor of the Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the opera, the rich program sees concerts<\/a> <\/strong>with of concerts hosts soloists, international reputation and young promises of baroque music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only concerts but also #MonteverdIncursioni<\/a><\/strong>, an imaginary journey in some historical, religious and civil places of the city, precious musical appointments that see instrumental and vocal groups with refined interpreters and musicians specialised in the early repertoire; #MonteverdiNight<\/strong><\/a> A unique proposal, in a historical place that has an inestimable artistic and cultural value; #MonteverdiClandestine<\/a><\/strong> An involving event, a leap in the Renaissance with the popular dances of the Company “Il Lauro”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other appointments are renewed: The Monteverdi Festival Cremona Barocca Residence<\/strong><\/a>, #Controcorrente<\/a><\/strong> the music cruise organized by Guindani Viaggi travel agency, and #MonteverdiEverywhere<\/a><\/strong>, which brings Claudio Monteverdi music in some representative places of the community of Cremona and its province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
