CMC – Cavalli Monteverdi Competition
CMC is a new international baroque singing competition named after Francesco Cavalli from Crema and Claudio Monteverdi from Cremona, the fathers of baroque opera.
The Competition will enhance a unique artistic and musical heritage, creating a synergic bridge between territories, traditions, and institutions.
The project is part of a true renaissance of Baroque opera, stimulating and encouraging young artists to specialise in this genre. The Competition also aims to create job opportunities for the best young talents involved, thanks to the possibility of taking part in the production of the opera Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi, produced by the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona on the occasion of the Monteverdi Festival 2024.
